With this jam-packed June 27 event, is BCB just showing off?
A little sibling rivalry is a normal part of development, but what about envy of your sister publication? Where do the psychologists stand on that?
When we heard our sister magazine, the always perceptive and excellent BCbusiness, was throwing another big networking party in honour of its annual Top 100 event, we weren’t surprised—but then we heard that they’re also taking everyone out to a BC Lions game after to keep the night going (a hell of an after party) and started to feel a liiiiiittle left out.
That’s right: the BCB editors are going to host hundreds of the city’s most connected and interesting people for one magical afternoon, complete with a fascinating panel discussion between BC Lions owner Amar Doman (as seen on our Power 50 list, ahem), Invictus Games COO Robyn McVicker and City of Vancouver sports expert Michelle Collens, followed by an awesome night out at the stadium… and over here at Vanmag we’re supposed to just sit at our desks grinding away on restaurant reviews and fashion round-ups. Like a good little sibling, we geared up to throw a fit: so unfairrrrruhhhhh!
But then we realized that the Vanmag crew is actually very much invited (oops!)… and in fact, anyone can buy a ticket and join B.C.’s premier business event. So we’ve cancelled our tantrum and complaints to Mom (in this sibling-magazine metaphor, the publisher is our beleaguered parent, right?) and are now counting down the days ’til the big day.
We’d love to see you there too. It’s your chance, not just to hob-knob at The Centre with folks who have made BCB‘s soon-to-be-announced Top 100 list (yes, with plenty of great bites and drinks, too—our big sib knows how to throw a party), but a rare opportunity to hear from the city’s most insightful business minds on this year’s fascinating theme topic: the Business of Sport. And then the whole party moves down the street to the VIP Top 100 Suite at BC Place for an exclusive game-day experience (and more food and drinks, of course; we’re not animals).
Networking! Inspiring speakers! Football! Our heroic sibling magazine! It’s an event that’s got it all. Grab your ticket now (just $99 for Vanmag readers!) to BCbusiness‘ Top 100 Event—or enter to win a pair of passes if you’re feeling lucky.
2 p.m.: Networking with the best of the best at the Centre Vancouver (777 Homer St.)
3 p.m.: Panel talk: The Business of Sport in B.C.
5 p.m.: Welcome to the VIP suite at BC Place
7 p.m.: Kick-off! BC Lions vs. Edmonton Elks
