Restaurant Awards 2026: The Best Chinese Restaurants in Vancouver

Gold: Dynasty

If you’ve peeped the Restaurant of the Year write-up already (and you are reading this issue cover-to-cover, riiiiight?), you know that this has been yet another year of excellence for the eternally great Dynasty. Which means it’s probably not a surprise to reveal that the room has clinched gold in the Best Chinese category for the third year in a row. Dynasty continues to be a reliable (and extremely delicious) choice for impressing guests; the grand dining room comfortably hosts family celebrations, business dinners, groups lingering over wine or whisky tastings and joyful dim sum feasts alike. Our judges all had their favourite dishes—some hyped up the order-in-advance smoked shredded chicken with sugar cane; others lauded the king crab with baked cheesy Portuguese-style fried rice or the black pepper pork pastries—but they all agreed that executive chef Cao Can Hui and dim sum head chef Garley Leung are both at the top of their games.

Silver: Mott 32

Downtown, silver winner Mott 32 delivers an upscale take on Chinese fare in a sumptuous dining room that’s ideal for special occasions. (“The service is dialled,” praised one judge.) It’s a spot famous for its applewood-roasted, 42-day-aged Peking duck, but the dumplings are knockouts, too: hot and sour XLB are delicate-skinned, with a rich pungent soup filling.

Bronze: Seaport City

Our bronze winner, Seaport City, is well regarded by the Chinese community—especially those who split their time between Hong Kong and Vancouver—and beloved for chuichow-style braised dishes. The tofu and duck in particular are “among the best you’ll ever have,” promised one judge.
