Exclusive Olympic Images, Day 15

It was the Charles Hamelin show Friday night with dual golds in men’s shorttrack speedskating. First up was the 500-metre final, a contest between giants we’ve come to know so well over the course of the Games. Hamelin emerged triumphant, but not before heartstopping deliberations by the video-replay judges for a crash leading around the final turn. American hardware collector Apolo Ohno was ultimately disqualified for illegal contact, leaving Korean Si-Bak Sung in silver and Canadian François-Louis Tremblay with bronze.

Half an hour later, Hamelin and Tremblay were back on the ice for the men’s 5,000-metre relay. In these shots: dual gold winner Charles Hamelin, South Korea’s Si-Bak Sung, and China’s Meng Wang.
