The beloved Italian hideaway marks the occasion with a limited-time prix fixe.
Robson Street has never been widely regarded as a top gastronomic destination, nor is it turf where restaurants tend to set down long-term roots. So the upcoming silver milestone of CinCin Ristorante is especially remarkable. The highly rated Italian eatery—well concealed from Robson’s bustle at the top of a clandestine staircase—opened in 1990, immediately distinguishing itself from the fast-casual dining options surrounding it. Acclaimed from the outset, it was named Best New Restaurant at the 1991 Vancouver Magazine Restaurant Awards and has placed in at least one category every year since.CinCin’s humble consistency and increasing old-guard status has meant our trend-obsessed city often took it for granted, but it roared back onto many lapsed customers’ radar in the last year thanks to the arrival of executive chef Andrew Richardson, whose commitment to market-fresh ingredients and versatile use of a coveted Grillworks Infierno (the first in Canada) brought new life to the menu.In celebration of CinCin’s 25th birthday, Richardson is presenting a special dinner from Sept. 11 to Oct. 5. The five-course prix fixe ($79) is a virtual roll call of classic Italian dishes, four of them available with recommended wine pairings for an additional cost. See it in its entirety below. Reservations are recommended: online or call 604-688-7338.
