Sometimes things just feel right. That’s how we felt when Roots announced its limited-edition capsule collection honouring iconic food stops in Canada and chose legendary Vancouver donut shop, Duffin’s, as our city’s landmark.
The cross-country Pit Stops Summer ’26 series, designed in collaboration with Toronto-born artist/illustrator Gangbox (Moya Garrison-Msingwana), celebrates fashion, food and storytelling from coast-to-coast with sweatshirts, tees, totes and baseball caps emblazoned with nostalgic foodie landmarks serving comfort foods like ice cream, poutine and burgers. Cows Creamery (PEI), St-Viateur Bagel and La Banquise (Montreal), The Big Apple and Webers (Ontario) joins our very own homegrown cult-fave donut mecca, which has been family-run for over 40 years.

“Duffin’s is like going home to your mom’s house,” says co-owner Molika Chhuon, who grew up with Duffin’s as her family business. “It’s warm, inviting and familiar. It’s not Architectural Digest in here, but that’s what makes it special.”
The old-school feel, along with the famous tortas, fried chicken and donuts, is exactly why it’s the best. “There’s a familiarity there, knowing that you’re always welcomed in.” Vancouver event producer and diehard Duffin’s-lover Jason Sulyma connected the two brands, “and for that we are so fortunate,” says Chhuon. “It speaks to the community of the people who come in: we hold everyone up.”
The Roots x Duffin’s collection is available online and in-store now, and Duffin’s treats will be given out July 28 at the Roots Hornby location (while supplies last) to those purchasing from the collection.
