Richmond Celebrates Soccer

The City of Richmond and Tourism Richmond are proud to present Richmond Celebrates Soccer, a series of free community events taking place over six weeks to welcome the arrival of the largest sporting event in the world, the FIFA World Cup 2026™. Take part in fun watch parties and family-friendly celebrations that honour the beautiful game and the spirit of sport, beginning with the World Soccer Day Kick-Off Event on June 12 at the Richmond Olympic Oval. There will be a public barbecue, music, soccer activities for participants of all ages, and a watch party of Team Canada’s first match against Bosnia and Herzegovina. In July, the Signature Closing Event at Aberdeen Neighborhood Park will mark the grand finale, featuring local soccer clubs, live performances, and a watch party of the tournament final.
