Public Disco Pride Block Party: Colored Craig (LA/NY), CarrieOnDisco (SF)

Every summer, Public Disco takes over a Mount Pleasant street for one of Vancouver Pride’s most distinctly underground celebrations. Art-filled laneways, steel-framed canopies, and two stages packed with friends, this is what the block party format was made for. The Public Disco Stage is headlined by Colored Craig (LA/NY) and CarrieOnDisco (SF), joined by local selectors Overland, and Softieshan plus Toronto’s Yohomo founder Phillippe. The Street Stage features a full TeXture Takeover, centring Vancouver’s queer underground with sets from Fisher Bryce, Ziggy Zaya, DJ dood, and more.

The programming moves through disco, house, and techno across both stages, genre-fluid, heart-forward, and deeply rooted in the Black, queer, and trans origins of this music. A food market and multiple murals round out the site. This event has sold out two years running, and $2 from every ticket supports the Vancouver Pride Society’s Bursary Program.
