As the days get longer and less melancholic, March bursts forward with enviable food offerings and even better cocktails. The month marks the fifth  annual Vancouver Cocktail Week, celebrating the talents of worldwide bartenders and toasting to the vibrant food and drink culture in the city. Further on in the month, add some Italian pasta cooking classes and spring pop-ups to your schedule! Here’s a taste of the events to check out this month.

Vancouver Cocktail Week 2026

Vancouver Cocktail Week returns March 1–8, 2026, marking its milestone fifth year as the city’s most anticipated celebration of cocktail culture. Presented by The Alchemist Magazine, the eight-day festival showcases Vancouver’s multi-award-winning bartenders alongside international and local spirit brands, with events designed for industry professionals, enthusiasts and visitors alike. From tastings (like Ellipsis’ Cinq à Sept feature menu, served daily from 5-7 p.m. each day of the festival) to bar takeovers (Ricardo Nava of Bar Mauro from Mexico City takes over Vancouver icon The Keefer Bar on March 3), VCW toasts the city’s global cocktail creativity.

The Wolfgang Puck Oscars Dinner at Blue Hat Bistro

Blue Hat Bistro at the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts hosts The Wolfgang Puck Oscars Dinner on Wednesday, March 4 and Thursday, March 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. This exclusive two-night pop-up celebrates the legendary awards-season flavours of Wolfgang Puck, with Chefs Ben and Phyllis leading culinary students and Chef Patrice heading pastry. The $99 dinner (+ GST) features iconic dishes like smoked salmon pizza with caviar and Chinois chicken salad alongside Austrian classics such as Beef Goulash and Kaiserschmarren, a chef-led, student-executed experience inspired by Oscar-night glamour.

Italian Kitchen Pasta Making Experiences

Italian Kitchen invites guests to celebrate the art of handmade pasta with immersive Saturday experiences throughout March (March 7, 14, 21 and 28) from 2 to 5 p.m. at its downtown location. Hosted in the elegant La Serra Room, the hands-on class (designed for groups of six) teaches guests to craft classics such as potato gnocchi, ravioli du dauphine and fettuccine or spaghetti before enjoying a private dinner featuring a Pasta Tower with pesto, pomodoro and cacio e pepe sauces. Two options are available: the Basic Experience ($165 per person) and the Corporate Experience ($199 per person), both including a glass of Mionetto Prosecco or a non-alcoholic cocktail, wine with dinner, an Italian Kitchen–branded apron and a pasta cutter wheel to take home.

Kobe Japanese Steakhouse Celebrates 58 Years

Kobe Japanese Steakhouse is celebrating 58 years as a Downtown dining institution with a limited-time $60 prix-fixe Anniversary Menu available Mondays through Thursdays from 5 to 11 p.m. starting March 9. The special menu features favourites such as Shabu Shabu Soup, Teppan Shrimp, Tiger Prawns, Sirloin Steak and Teriyaki Chicken, with optional upgrades like Filet Mignon or Lobster Tail, plus a celebratory Crown Jewel cocktail for $18.

Lavantine Spring Feature Menu

Lavantine Restaurant and Skybar is bringing back guest-favourite dishes with a new three-course spring feature menu, available Sundays through Thursdays from 3 to 11 p.m. at the rooftop oasis atop the Azur Legacy Hotel. Created by Executive Chef Daniel Kenney, the $65 prix-fixe menu includes a choice of starter, main and dessert, from truffle hummus and burrata to salmon skewer and lamb shank tagine, ending on sweet notes like tahina crème brûlée or Dubai chocolate cheesecake.
