Article is open in Vancouver with a gorgeous new store you didn’t know you were craving

If you’re design oriented and style-minded, Article might be your stylish, affordable furniture BFF. Now that’s it’s opened a physical store, we dare you to try and stay away.

Article changed the home furnishings game in 2013 when it launched article.com and quickly grew to become one of the original direct-to-consumer furniture brands, delivering beautiful modern styles for every room, fast and affordably, backed by outstanding customer service.

This year, it decided to bring that offering to life and open its first physical store, located in Vancouver’s vibrant Strathcona neighbourhood. The store features a thoughtful assortment of mid-century modern, Scandinavian and coastal designs, showcasing a wide range of Article’s living room, dining room, bedroom and home office collections, like these uber comfy, top-selling sofas and functional furniture pieces.

Article’s best-selling Sven Charme Tan Sofa greets you at the entrance of the store. Styled alongside the Sunny Vine Green Lounge Chair and Lenia Walnut Storage Coffee Table featuring Kate Metten Ceramics. | Photo: Article

Article’s iconic Sven Charme Tan Sofa, a classic mid-century modern design, is front and centre when you visit the store. You can nestle into the Sven’s overstuffed cushions to get to know this best-selling, expansive collection, which has more than 20 upholstery options and a large variety of seating configurations. As you decide on your perfect version of the Sven, you can play with fabric swatches, small and large, to choose a look you’ll love.

The Leigh modular collection is another that cannot be skipped over. Not only is it Article’s comfiest sofa ever, but the collection comes stocked in their proprietary LifeGuardTM performance fabric, which makes it inherently stain resistant and easy to care for. With more than 5,000 possible seating combinations and a dozen upholstery options, you can build a lounge spot that is just for you, and when we say “lounge” we actually mean “sink into utopia” thanks to gently angled, relax-worthy armrests.

As you walk through the store you’ll be surprised to discover how functional and beautiful Article’s catalog truly is. Apartment dwellers will rejoice at the Plumas extendable dining table that has a self-storage butterfly leaf and can transition from four to six-person table in a flash. The Scandi-style Torme collection stuns with pieces that when combined resemble built-ins and offer a ton of storage. From sleek sofa beds to storage coffee tables, Article has pieces that can make your space immediately more functional without sacrificing style points.

The furniture is laid out in a way that feels like home with work from local artists to bring it to life. Artwork by Marion Landry adorn the walls and Kate Metten Ceramics are styled atop tables and surfaces throughout the space.

The design centre is the focal point of the store where customers can plan their dream space with advice from the Article team. | Photo: Article

But Article’s store is so much more than a furniture showroom; it’s a place to start planning a dream space. Customers can bring their visions to life at a design centre where they can further explore colour and upholstery options through fabric swatches, check out Article’s full catalog, and create mood boards, supported by design advice from the Article team. For customers that want a full design plan to realize their dream space, Article will submit a request to the brand’s Interior Design Experts for free design services.

Customers can explore more than 150 upholstery swatches, large and small, as they decide on the right furniture for their home. | Photo: Article

And don’t worry, Article will never forget its roots. Still committed to its easy, DTC shopping experience, customers can easily place an order in-store with the Article team and products will be delivered to their home with their delivery service of choice (front door delivery, in-room delivery, or in-room and assembly).
