And we can't flippin' wait!
Well, it’s been a time hasn’t it? By late February all the votes were in and our crack accountants, Crowe MacKay had tabulated all the winners for our 31st Annual Restaurant Awards…and then we all know what happened. The restaurant industry ground to a halt, public gathering we’re verboten and the awards were put on the shelf for a time that seemed more suitable.
Well, for better or for worse, that time is now. Or September 14th, to be exact. And obviously we’re not crowding into the basement of the Wall Centre and getting blasted like we collectively have for the past three decades. Instead CBC Vancouver’s Lien Yeung and I will broadcast the results live on Zoom and Facebook and as is the norm, we’ll have some of the winners Zoom in to say a few words. Exactly like we normally do, save for the fact, that we won’t be near each other. But that doesn’t mean you can’t cajole and carouse like you normally do—you’ll just have to do it with your own booze (which, by looking under the chairs during past ceremonies, most of you were already doing).
So save the date—September 14—and the time—2 p.m.—and we’ll back to give you more info in the coming days. Until then enjoy this short promo highlighting some of the finalists (you can see the full list here). And if you look close you’ll see the Restaurant of the Year in there.
