Nook (Gold) is all a neighbourhood joint should be: cozy, bustling, a spot where you can comfortably squeeze in with the kids or slide up to the bar all by your lonesome. The pasta is bright and tingly, ingredients top-notch. The bar is the best secret, doubling as charcuterie and cold plates prep station. (The tenders really know their wines.) Go early or late. Kingyo (Silver) remains a chaotic, bustling delight with serious, well-priced food. At lunch, the limited-edition bento box is a jewel case filled with small, tasty gems. The original O’Doul’s bar thrived as a local hangout; the revamped, energy-efficient Forage (Bronze) is a huge improvement (except for the demise of live jazz) and still an easy wander home.
