Best Victoria 2010

Gold: Zambri’s

Silver: Brasserie L’École
Bronze: Cafe Brio
Honourable Mention: Stage Small Plates Wine Bar
Honourable Mention: Lucy’s in the Square

Marry global flavours with local ingredients and you’ll come out a winner, according to our judges. “A daily changing menu is not easy,” said one, “but Zambri’s rises to the occasion.” Silver to Brasserie L’École, where chef Sean Brennan crafts hearty French-inspired fare. Cafe Brio takes home Bronze for its family meal concept: six chef-chosen dishes for the table, like “the astonishing lomo-wrapped stuffed rabbit saddle.” George and Linda Szasz have a cozy neighbourhood hangout at Stage (Honourable Mention), and Lucy’s in the Square (Honourable Mention) is “new-style comfort food at comfortable prices.”
