“How the City of Vancouver Archives Changed My Life!”
An evening with Michael Kluckner – Tuesday April 28, 7PM

Join us for an intimate evening, with Vancouver historian and artist Michael Kluckner to hear, in his own words, “how the City of Vancouver Archives changed my life!”

Known for his romantic paintings and detailed books exploring the evolving neighbourhoods of Vancouver, Michael has long drawn inspiration from the collections of the archive.

This special fundraiser presented by the Friends will spotlight the archives’ documentary art digitization project, why it matters, and why community support is essential to preserving and sharing a digital archive of local artwork.

Enjoy a glass of wine and light nibbles before the talk then afterwards, guests will have the opportunity to purchase numbered 8 × 10 colour prints from a small selection of works chosen by Michael from the archives’ growing documentary art digital collection.

Michael Kluckner is a writer, artist, and heritage advocate whose work explores the landscapes, history, and changing character of British Columbia. He is the author of several books and has contributed widely to publications such as Canadian Geographic.

Tuesday April 28th, 7PM. City of Vancouver Archives. 1150 Chestnut Street, Vancouver

Early bird tickets are $30 until March 28. Regular tickets are $35 from March 29 until the event.
