Join us for an afternoon of musical enchantment as the Vancouver Academy of Music’s distinguished faculty presents “Music of Twilight.” On April 13 at 2:00 PM in Koerner Recital Hall, experience a program that explores the rich and evocative moments of twilight, where day transitions into night, through some of the most captivating chamber works ever composed. The concert opens with Boccherini’s lively Fandango Guitar Quintet, a piece that sparkles with the vibrant energy and rhythmic flair of Spanish dance. Following this, the mood deepens with Ravel’s Piano Trio, a masterpiece that weaves intricate harmonies and lush textures to evoke the serene yet mysterious beauty of twilight. After intermission, immerse yourself in Schoenberg’s Transfigured Night, a profound and hauntingly beautiful work that captures the emotional intensity of nightfall, transforming darkness into light through its exquisite melodies and rich, expressive harmonies. This concert promises to be a unique journey through the various shades of twilight, highlighting the extraordinary talent and artistry of our faculty musicians. Don’t miss this opportunity to witness a performance that beautifully captures the delicate balance between light and shadow.
