Prophecy Gets in On the Bartender Exchange Big Time

They're welcoming Eric van Beek from Handshake, the World's reigning #1 bar

We’re living in a golden age of bartender collabs and within that glow, Vancouver is one of the shining lights. In part it’s because we’ve been a city that has long punched above it’s weight class in terms of cocktail talent and in part we’ve been lucky to have some far-sighted (and deep-pocketed) establishments that are willing to go to the time and expense of importing a crew from a far flung spot so locals can see what the fuss is all about. First and foremost here is Botanist Bar in the Pacific Rim who’ve welcomed Mexico’s Baltra, Singapore’s Manhattan and London’s Bar Swift in past few years.

And now our BOTY alum Jeff Savage (above left) is bringing some of that panache from his old employer to his new as Prophecy is seeing a one night only event this January 23rd with Mexico City’s Handshake Speakeasy, currently the #1 ranked bar in the world. Co-owner and Bar Manager Eric van Beek (above right) and Bartender Rodrigo Urraca will be shaking up a storm from 7-9. It’s a ticketed event and $100 but that gets you two drinks created by Eric as well as some small bites for ballast. It’s a far sight cheaper than roundtrip airfare to CDMX and frankly not much more than you’d pay at one of out other fine watering holes, except it comes with pretty bitchin’ bragging rights.

Tickets are available here.
