Everyone’s favourite midway is open for fun and excitement every weekend in June and from Wednesday to Sunday starting July. Playland welcomes families, friends, groups and folks rolling solo to experience thrilling rides, try their luck at midway games or get caught up in the excitement of a Playland special event.

Special Events in June

Coming up June 8 and 9, bring the kids to KC Bear’s Birthday Bash, a day full of hugs from KC Bear, complimentary popcorn from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm under the funbrellas in Kids Playce, and plenty of photo opportunities with KC Bear and their mascot friends. Put on your party hats and join the birthday party with KC Bear’s friends, BCAA’s Blue, Pee & Poo and the mascot from Tim Hortons. Silly hats are highly encouraged!

On June 15, check out a Taylor Swift themed Eras Night from 6 to 11 pm. Sing along to your favourite Taylor Swift hits around the park and don’t miss your chance to see Taylor Swift in concert in Vancouver, as all guests are automatically entered into a draw to win a pair of lower bowl tickets.

The first 500 guests will receive a friendship bracelet kit that they can put together in Playland’s serene Secret Garden. Afterward, join in the fun of friendship bracelet trading as you swap, share and celebrate the spirit of friendship. Top off the perfect evening with the Taylor Swift Drag Queen Impersonator and glitter mini donuts, as sparkly and sweet as the evening itself. In fact, in the spirit of all things sparkly, we encourage our guests to dress up in sequins and glitter. Shine brightly as you enter your Playland Era!

New Thrill Ride at Playland

Ready for the ultimate thrill? Get ready to blow your hair back—way back—with Playland’s new launch coaster, ThunderVolt, opening in July. Built by Zamperla, the ThunderVolt experience carries 12 passengers at a time through a supernatural environment with extraordinary animals, graphics, and lighting that pulses as the ride system charges, leading up to its launch. The three-car train blasts off with 1.3 Gs of acceleration through an illuminated tunnel, up a steep incline before an 18-meter drop.

Feeling adventurous? Stay late Friday and Saturday nights. Check out Fun-Priced Thursdays when Thrill Passes are available for the price of a Fun Pass. Group rates are available for parties of ten or more and all tickets should be purchased in advance.
