December’s Best Food Events in Vancouver—Where to Dine This Month

Festive feasts and nostalgic cocktails? Breakfast with the jolly old man in red? Grab a fork and say no more.

Fall may be coming to an end, but our editorial team is always more than ready for the holiday season (and that’s long before December rolls around). With all the energy we’re expending from last-minute Christmas shopping (I commend anyone who doesn’t buy gifts months in advance), hearty meals and warming drinks are a must. Here’s what holiday-inspired afternoon teas, cocktail series and belt-loosening feasts and galas are filling up our calendar this month.

Nutcracker Afternoon Tea at Bacchus

Credit: Wedgewood Hotel

‘Tis the season for tiered trays and tiny sandwiches. Bacchus’ Nutcracker Afternoon Tea ($89 per person) returns for another festive season of bite-sized gourmet sandwiches, savoury cakes and sweets—paired with a selection of teas from around the world. Optionally, elevate the experience with a glass of Champagne or prosecco because nothing says “holiday cheers” quite like bubbles and butter on a scone.
