On the human side, South Korean Lee Sang-Hwa took gold in women's 500-metre speedskating. Seen here are Aihua Xing of China (who finished 13th) and American Heather Robertson (#6). Other images feature Japanese teammates Nao Kodaira (12) and Shihomi Shinya (14), and Canadian Shannon Rempel, who finished a distant 27th, well behind fellow Canadian Christine Nesbitt, in the 10th slot.
