Exclusive Olympic Images, Day 2

Yesterday’s events were dominated by hopes for Canadian gold at the women’s moguls competition at Cypress Mountains. (When we weren’t feeling alternating pride and horror over our 18–0 win over Slovakia in women’s hockey.) Canadian hopeful Jennifer Heil may not have won first on home turf—that would be a first in Canadian Olympic history—but the defending champion earned her place on the podium with strength and grace.

Jennifer Heil is seen in these photos competing, and standing with American gold and bronze winners Hannah Kearney and Shannon Bahrke, and with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
