The School for the Contemporary Arts at SFU’s 50th anniversary alumni art auction and exhibition, Be True to Your School runs until December 13.

The auction features 50 works from 50 alumni, including well-known artists such as Ken Lum (Monument to East Van) and Cindy Mochizuki (part of current exhibition at the new Gibson Art Museum at SFU).

The auction includes paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, and other objects with starting bids ranging from $50 to $6,000. Funds raised from the auction will provide critical support for student-led programming, exhibitions, and event.

The accompanying exhibition at the Audain Gallery in the SFU Goldcorp Centre for the Arts features a program of events, including a verbatim reading of Marcus

Youssef and James Long’s Winners and Losers on December 11. During the closing reception on December 13, Stefan Smulovitz will share an improvised violin performance, and Justine A. Chambers and Josh Martin will share a new dance work.
