Big Rock Urban Lassos Vancouver

Alberta’s favourite brewery arrives in Vancouver with a dedication to West Coast local

Although new to Vancouver as a decidedly local brewery, with its brand new Mount Pleasant district tap house, 150-seat restaurant, tasting room and growler fill-up, Big Rock Brewery has been pioneering craft beer all over Western Canada for three decades. These made-in-Vancouver brews are locally inspired, using as many Lower Mainland natural ingredients as the Wet Coast allows. Want more local dedication? Big Rock Urban beer is sold exclusively in B.C. Brew master Jody Hammell brings years of experience to the job, having learned his craft in Germany and at several storied B.C. breweries. But the beer is only the appetizer (or is that dessert?). It’s the dining at BRU Eatery that surprises many first-time hop heads—and design aficionados, with its floor-to-ceiling glass wall looking into the brewery and a stage frequented by local performers. Then there’s the free parking, bike racks and an electrical vehicle charging station.
