Organic potato hash from Helmers in Pemberton, crispy fried chicken from the Fraser Valley’s Rossdale Farm, and back bacon benedicts courtesy of Nanaimo’s Sloping Hill Farms are just some of the homegrown treats featured on the à la carte and 2-course prix fixe menus this weekend.

Oru at the Fairmont Pacific Rim
If “buffet” brings to mind greasy sausage and slippery eggs congealing under heat lamps, you haven’t experienced brunch at Oru. Chef David Wong’s decadent spread includes dishes like sake kasu-glazed salmon, Belgian waffles with strawberry-rhubarb compote and Chantilly cream, truffled mushroom and spring vegetable sautées, and chef-attended omelette and roast stations.
