Vancouver Restaurant Awards 2014

In 1990, this magazine began an awards program in recognition of a few of the city’s finest restaurants. A quarter-century later, we proudly present the largest year yet, with 18 judges deciding the winners in 49 categories. The dining scene has grown substantially over the decades — as the finalists below attest — and we’re proud to have grown alongside.

Now, let’s eat!

How We Did It:

For most categories, our 18 judges split into smaller, specialized teams. Anyone with a perceived conflict of interest in a particular category was excluded. Judges discussed long lists, then revisited rooms and voted separately. Restaurant of the Year was a blind vote between Best Upscale and Best Casual. (The count was 17 to 1.) Meet the judges here.
