Dan Mangan Coming Home to Vancouver Folk Fest
June 27, 2012
Indie sweetheart Dan Mangan started the year with a London review knighting him one of the most thought-provoking writers of his generation; a few months later, he killed at the Junos (best new artist, best alternative album). For these reasons and more, the Vancouver-born singer-songwriter will no doubt reap audience adulation when he hits the stage at Jericho Beach Park for the 35th annual Vancouver Folk Festival (July 13, Main Stage)
Alongside Mangan you'll see more Canuck talent (blues-rock duo Stephen Fearing and Andy White; the whimsical Bette and Wallet), as well as musicians from the U.S. (superstars Ani DiFranco and Lucinda Williams, plus rising Americana band The Head and the Heart) and around the world (check out South Africa's revered Johnny Clegg and, from Mali, Sidi Touré, a pillar of West African blues).
