Best Winery/Vineyard Dining 2014

GOLD: MIRADORO AT TINHORN CREEK

Silver: The Vanilla Pod Restaurant at Poplar Grove | Bronze: Old Vines Restaurant at Quails’ Gate  | Honourable Mentions: Terrace Restaurant at Mission Hill, Bacchus Bistro at Chaberton Estate

When Manny Ferreira left Le Gavroche for Miradoro at Tinhorn Creek (Gold) it was a side project, but judges noted that three years in, it “continues to set the pace” for winery restaurants, singling out chef Jeff Van Geest’s sourcing of the best produce in the south Valley. Vanilla Pod Restaurant at Poplar Grove (Silver) keeps climbing the standings with its mix of stunning Naramata Bench views and expertly prepared food that’s never overcomplicated, while Old Vines Restaurant at Quails’ Gate (Bronze) is still the go-to place for Kelowna visitors looking for easy access to vineyard dining.
