Self-effacing chef Mark Filatow blends the bounty of the Okanagan with a smart and sleek room that’s “funky and affordable,” again making Waterfront (Gold) the top place to gather in Kelowna. Wild Apple (Silver) greatly benefitted from the steady hand of chef Bernard Cassavant of Burrowing Owl fame; he’s turned the Manteo Resort room into a destination dining spot. Bronze went to Rod Butters’s ongoing Kelowna experiment RauDZ—a testament to the fact that great cooking trumps a questionable name every time.
