Big news, Vancouver! Okay, medium news at best, but it’s about Pad Thai so you should definitely pay attention.

Chef Angus An’s Sen Pad Thai is moving its Eastern Thai-inspired selection of street food from the Net Loft on Granville Island to the food court in the public market across the street (they’re replacing Indian standby Curry2U as its owners retire). While the food court is about to lose tiffin boxes of daal, we’re getting some regional—and reasonable—pad thai variations to replace them.

An plans to keep churning out the Pad Thai selections that worked for him in the loft, but he’s also plotting a new summer menu. Turns out the mind behind Maenam, a perennial winner of our ‘Best Thai’ restaurant award, doesn’t like to rest on his laurels.

This might be reason enough to brave the throngs of tourists.
