Bells and Whistles to Host Series of ‘Tap Takeover’ Events

Local and Montreal-based breweries will serve signature and exclusive brews at the new Fraser Street spot.

Though they’re still fairly new to their Fraser Street location, Bells and Whistles is already mixing things up, with plans to join forces with an award-winning array of Canadian breweries for an exclusive series of events and tap takeovers taking place throughout February and March. “We’re excited to give our guests a taste some unique beers, while showcasing the best of what’s happening in the craft beer community not just locally but across the country,” says Nick Miller, Bells and Whistles’ co-owner. The casual beer hall will host these upcoming events:

HOPWIRED FESTIVAL AFTER-PARTY
Saturday, February 24, 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.
This festival brews up a series of collaborations between local crafts breweries and coffee roasters at the Croatian Cultural Centre; to mark the occasion, Bells and Whistles will host the after-party, pouring a series of festival collaboration beers after the main event.

BACKCOUNTRY BREWING TAP TAKEOVER
Tuesday, February 27, 11:30 a.m. onwards
The upstart brewery from Squamish will be the guest tap takeover, serving homespun brews such as Ridgerunner Pilsner, Widowmaker IPA, as well as other yet-to-be-announced gems sourced straight from the BC Beer Awards’ Rookie of the Year.

BRASSERIE DUNHAM TAP TAKEOVER
Tuesday, March 6, 11:30 a.m. onwards
The bar will welcome the European brewing-inspired Brasserie Dunham from “la belle province,” for an exclusive tap takeover spotlighting their signature departure from modern American brewing styles and highlight some unique brews like Leo’s Early Breakfast IPA, LaPatt Porter Robuste, and more.

DIEU DU CIEL TAP TAKEOVER
Tuesday, March 13, 11:30 a.m. onwards
The tiny Dieu du Ceil gets a big spotlight in Vancouver. The Montreal microbrasserie will feature their fresh selection of beers including Aphrodisiaque Cocoa and Vanilla Stout, Rosée d’Hibiscus Witbier, and other Dieu du Ceil highlights.
