California sock pop-ups are a thing now
Or so we're told
April 8, 2016
Richer Poorer, a brand of elevated innerwear (underwear, under-shirts and socks for those of you who don’t know what that means) from California has landed in Vancouver—but only until Sunday. The clothing line is a recent acquisition of SHOEme.ca, a growing online shoe store co-founded by Vancouverite Sean Clark. Richer Poorer, which began by making high-quality men’s socks, wanted to change male innerwear forever. “We wanted to help men figure out something that women did years ago, wearing great underwear makes you feel good, regardless of who sees them,” says Iva Pawling, a co-founder of the brand. Now Richer Poorer has added women’s socks, and a new collection of t-shirts—made from organic cotton—manufactured in California.
Now that they are part of a Canadian company, Richer Poorer aims to make clothing that appeals to the northern west coast. “Coming to Vancouver and B.C. is very exciting because we want our clothing to perfectly fit the lifestyle,” says Pawling. “We aim to be fashionable but comfortable enough to be active wear.” After spending time here in Vancouver and immersing herself in the lifestyle, Pawling is convinced Richer Poorer can definitely keep up. “From doing the Grouse Grind to chilling by the beach, our collection can be worn on any occasion, perfectly complementing the Vancouver life.”
While the pop-up is only here until Sunday (April 10th), their products will be available year-round on Shoeme.ca. And if online shopping hasn’t won you over yet, SHOEme.ca has plans to open a bricks-and-mortar store this August (on Robson and Burrard), where Richer Poorer will be available on shelves.
