Inclusive, gender-neutral and green are themes at Fresh Faces, where you can find buzzy brands like Non Gender Specific, Living Libations and more.

We’re living in an age where the beauty industry is greener, cleaner and more inclusive (thanks, Fenty Beauty!) than it’s ever been before. But with progress and responsibility comes, well, a lot more options, which can be pretty overwhelming, even for the most discerning of beauty junkies.
Luckily, Nordstrom is coming through with its latest pop-up shop, Fresh Faces, to ensure that we’re up to date on the newest and coolest products that are keeping complexions nourished, cheeks flushed and hair healthy and silky around the globe. In other words, it’s a treasure trove of products from indie and hard-to-find beauty and wellness brands—all of them cruelty-free and crafted with ingredients you can actually pronounce—that you won’t find at your local Sephora.
Think antioxidant-rich melon-jelly cleansers by the Miami Beach–based Truly Organic, unisex multi-duty serums from the buzzy Non Gender Specific and luxe hydrating lippies by W3ll People (cofounded by a former Nars makeup artist), plus dual-action facial rollers and seabuckthorn moisturizers from made-in-Canada names like Province Apothecary and Living Libations. Olivia Kim, Nordstrom’s vice president of creative projects and the curator of Fresh Faces, has even collaborated with vegan nail polish line Veque to produce 11 “nude” nail colours that consider a range of skin tones.
The Fresh Faces pop-up is at Nordstrom Pacific Centre (799 Robson St.) until April 14. And if you fall in love with something but aren’t able to restock before the pop-up, well, pops away, hot tip: many of the featured labels (and ones like them) are available at local boutiques like India Rose Cosmeticary, Sunja Link Body Shoppe and Harlow Atelier.
