Shiny Fuzzy Muddy was formed in 2003 to create art and design events where patrons could purchase meaningful objects directly from the artists who make them. The driving force and vision behind the annual Holiday Market comes from the group’s four core members Janna Hurtzig, Arleigh Wood, Frances Dickinson and Kari Woo, who are now celebrating 15 years as an artist focused not for profit collective. Having started on Main Street, where the founders lived and worked, the event stays true to its Mount Pleasant roots and distills the vibrant Eastside artist culture into its much anticipated two day event.Each year the collective invites up to thirty established, mid-career guests to exhibit and sell their work at the Shiny Fuzzy Muddy Holiday Market at Main Street’s historic Heritage Hall. Artists are carefully chosen to create an innovative and diverse line-up of vendors and creatives. A shared commitment to quality materials, creativity, craftsmanship and community provides a common thread. Shoppers make a point of attending, as they love the high quality workmanship and intimate, curated setting that Shiny Fuzzy Muddy creates.
