CedarCreek Estate Winery
Purchased in 1986 by Senator Ross Fitzpatrick, CedarCreek Estate Winery released its first wines in 1987 and was one of the first eight pioneering wineries of BC. For over 30 years, CedarCreek has lived by the philosophy, “respect the land, honour tradition, pursue perfection.” Their ability to uphold this standard has led them to be named “Canada’s Winery of the Year” not just once, but twice.
In 2014 the Fitzpatrick family announced the transfer of ownership of CedarCreek Estate Winery to the von Mandl Family. With this, two of the region’s pioneering winemaking families have come together with a shared vision for the Okanagan Valley, one that will continue for generations to come.
Now in 2018, CedarCreek is more committed than ever to building on their success. They are in the midst of a major, multi-year renovation to open a new tasting room, year-round full-service restaurant, and dedicated reception area for their Platinum Club members. Winemaker Taylor Whelan is focused on using his knowledge of the terroir of the Okanagan to continue refining their approach to wine growing, focused particularly on their Platinum single-block program. CedarCreek Estate Winery is also in the process of a five-year conversion to organic viticulture. Passion, tenacity, care and hard work are vital but above all they seek truth in wine. And the results show in every bottle. On that, you have their word.
