Owners Cam and Allison Mc?Kinnon have created a cozy, dark space with a long, social bar and all manner of interesting nooks. Wine, cheese, and charcuterie bolster a short menu filled with sandwiches, pot pies, mac and cheese, meatloaf, and other comfort foods. (The kitchen is the size of a phone booth.) The bar program is short and simple, but the cocktails are first-rate, developed as they were by Nick Devine, a Vancouver magazine Bartender of the Year. Try the braised Angus short rib, and duck confit shepherd pie.
