Even by the standards of overblown Chinese restaurant design, Shiang Garden takes the gilded cake with soaring ceilings, gigantic glittering chandeliers, and huge canvases of hunting scenes. The food follows suit. Look for the classic Shanghainese-style dish of egg whites scrambled with pea tips and century egg, and beef tendon braised in abalone sauce. Dim sum aficionados swear by steamed shrimp dumplings and the pillowy soft barbecue-pork buns.
