Not dumpy enough to be a crab shack and not near fancy enough to be a West Side equivalent of C Restaurant, this Kerrisdale staple nonetheless gets an honest ÔA’ for effort. The menu is written on a large chalkboard, they serve glasses of wine for $5 or so, and they craft a mean halibut burger with square-cut fries so thick they look like Lincoln logs. The anachronisms, like asking if you want your fish blackened, are just part of the charm.
