At first glance, the spelling of West Vancouver’s westernmost neighbourhood may seem like a typo, but the unique spelling (yes, the ‘e’ comes before the ‘i’) is part of Caulfeild’s charm. The younger sister to the prestigious British Properties, Caulfeild is equally upscale, possessing its own character and luxury real-estate offerings. Originally named Skunk Cove, and unofficially called “Tiddly Cove” by many locals, the neighbourhood assumed its current name after 960 acres of land was purchased by Francis William Caulfeild upon European discovery of the area in 1898. The area’s narrow winding lanes and stately homes that still exist today are a nod to England, the homeland of Caulfeild.
