Ambleside-Dundarave

Spending a day in Ambleside and Dundarave is like going back in time to a Vancouver of the ’90s, when stores were owned by neighbourhood locals and most of the restaurants were family businesses—a time when the city rush wasn’t so pervasive. Although the popular Park Royal mall and plaza are a two-minute drive away, most of Ambleside and Dundarave has a coastal-village feel to it, with a hint of roasted coffee from the shore-side cafes wafting alongside the salty ocean breeze. Looking over at Vancouver from the walkway, you can appreciate Stanley Park in all its glory, while simultaneously taking in the Georgia Straight, the expanse of Point Grey and seaplanes taking off from Richmond’s sea-island in the distance.
