Located just 30 km north of Seattle, Lynnwood coaxes you with plenty of reasons to pull off the I-5 this summer.
As one of the largest root beer outlets anywhere, the Root Beer Store boasts 100+ brands from all over the U.S. Hit it on the first Saturday of the month for their free tasting. Then stock up on the amazingly priced curated goodness.

Lynwood also boasts one of the best Shakespeare festival in Washington state. Not only do performances take place at the newly renovated Lynndale Amphitheater, they’re free.

Local brewers Big E Ales is another must-stop (for the passengers in the group, of course). Brewing in a hidden industrial park in Lynnwood for the past decade, the brewery is constantly lauded locally for producing nectar that competes with Seattle and Portland’s finest.

Summer always brings out the best of Alderwood Mall, the high-end, 175-shop-strong pedestrian friendly shopping village that keeps locals and visitors coming for the curation and great deals, not to mention the six full-service restaurants to power those shopping safaris.

If you’re road-tripping with little ones, don’t miss Heritage Park, a restored piece of the Pacific Northwest, featuring a self-guided tour amongst a collection of homes from the early days of Lynnwood (formerly known as Alderwood Manor).
