Retreat to Island Paradise with One of Canada’s Founding Craft Brewers
Dreaming of an island getaway? Celebrate summer with live music, fresh food and over 30 years of craft brewing heritage at Big Rock’s second annual Summer Sizzler.
July 15, 2017
On July 22, Big Rock Brewery will host its second annual Summer Sizzler and Open House from their brewery and eatery in Vancouver’s Mount Pleasant neighbourhood. The free event includes a pig roast, live music, Kitty Nights hula dancers and of course some of the most delicious craft beer available.
This year’s Summer Sizzler comes along with Big Rock’s feature brew – Rhine Stone Cowboy Kölsch. The crisp, drinkable beer features subtle fruity notes and a medium carbonation, perfect for sipping on a sunny patio all summer long.
Despite its minimalist character, the Rhine Stone Cowboy Kölsch not only stands up against bold flavours, it compliments them. The signature beer pairs effortlessly with spicy food and pork, making it the perfect pairing for Saturday’s epic on-site roast.
While the Summer Sizzler will take the form of an inviting backyard barbeque, attendees will also can check out Big Rock’s eatery, which features a full-service restaurant and lounge serving beer-inspired dishes with live and local music. They also boast an in-house beer store, complete with growler fills and bottles of Big Rock classics.
Big Rock has been producing craft beer long before the term “artisanal” was on-trend. Since 1985 the independent Canadian company has been a pioneer in the craft-brewing world. They continue to brew premium, all-natural beer and cider from their breweries in Vancouver, Calgary and Etobicoke.
Big Rock’s Summer Sizzler Open House happens July 22nd from 2:00pm – 7:00pm. Their brewery and eatery is located at 310 4th Avenue W in Mount Pleasant (East Vancouver).
