Drink Wine Like a Pro

A 90-minute crash course with our local drinking expert Neal McLennan

February 11, 2016

By Vancouver Magazine

Due to a scheduling conflict with the International Wine Festival this event has been postponed to early April. Date and time to be announced.

Sniff, swirl and sip your way to wine expertise with Western Living’s Food and Travel editor and Vancouver Magazine columnist, Neal McLennan. The 90-Minute Guide to Being a Wine Pro will cover a range of topics for both connoisseurs and those new to the wine-drinking scene.

McLennan will walk you through the terminology (ever wondered what it means when wines are described as oaky, balanced, or steely?), help you to navigate tricky restaurant wine lists, and share some tips-and-tricks about how to pair your vintage bottles with canapés and desserts—both of which will be served at the event. Attendees also have a chance to win a Danby Silhouette Professional wine fridge (valued at $1,199).

Trail Appliances, 2876 Rupert Street, Vancouver. Proceeds from all tickets, priced at $40 per person, will benefit the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
