The boldly bitter and fragrant hop varieties that distinguish these ales have already become incredibly popular since they were released by West Coast growers in the ’70s. While these hops are most closely associated with the India pale ale (IPA), brewers have successfully introduced them to a range of styles, from pale and amber ales to reds and browns, and event stouts.
