In this constant heat, it feels like summer is going to last forever. And if that’s the case, you’ll definitely want to switch up your summer drinking routine. We’ve rounded up the best outdoor spots in the city (the ones you didn’t even know existed), so you can keep the outdoor patio party going.

1. Minami

Located in the heart of Yaletown, Minami is known for its amazing sushi, and unique cocktails. The cozy patio seating—surrounded by lush greenery—is perfect for catching up with a friend, a business lunch, or date night. Bonus: last month they launched a new signature sangria. Made with sake, lavender and fresh yuzu juice, it gives the traditional drink a sophisticated Japanese twist—and you can order it by the pitcher. 1118 Mainland St.

2. The Arbor

You’ll go to the Arbor for the vegan/vegetarian comfort food, but you’ll end up staying for the patio. Tucked behind the restaurant, this laid-back spot is perfect for Sunday brunch or an after work catch-up with friends. We highly recommend the vegan mac ’n’ cheese. 3941 Main St.

3. Forage

Forage’s rustic patio will make you feel like you’re enjoying the great outdoors—with the comforts of privacy (the patio is completely enclosed) and pretty string lights. If you’re caught out late one evening, their “Hair of the Dog” happy hour will save your life: from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturdays and Sunday, get a classic eggs benny with either a caesar, mimosa or draft for craft beer for only $12.00. 1300 Robson St.

4. Ouisi

If you’re up for something different, check out Ouisi Bistro. It’s Vancouver’s first (and only) New Orleans-inspired restaurant, serving cajun and Creole dishes like gator bites with spicy tartar sauce—we vote you give it a try while sitting on their outdoor patio. Surrounded by vine leaves, the patio is a quaint place to take a break from the bustling streets of South Granville. 3014 Granville St.

5. Via Tevere

Via Tevere offers a truly Neapolitan experience—their pizzas are hand kneaded and cooked in a wood-fired oven, resulting in a pizza so good you’ll be happy you ordered your own (sharing is not caring in this case…trust us). Their quaint covered patio can be enjoyed throughout the summer and early fall, courtesy of the heating lamps they’ve installed outside. Note: They don’t take reservations, and they won’t seat you unless your entire party has arrives, so be sure to get there early. 1190 Victoria Dr.

6. Pronto

If you’re looking for authentic Italian, Pronto is the place to be. With a menu full of antipasto, pizza and handmade pasta, you have plenty of options to choose from while you hangout at their relaxed backyard patio (it’s a cozy, family-friendly space that’s decked out with comfortable seating, ambient candles and twinkling string lights). 3473 Cambie St.

7. Kingston Taphouse

The Kingston may be located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, but their rustic-chic patio gives us some major vacation vibes thanks to woven seating, palm trees and a water fountain. After you’ve had a bucket of beer ($20 for five coronas) and some appies, venture down to their basement to play darts or to watch a live show. 755 Richards St.

8. Caffé Barney

It may be hard to believe there’s a patio hiding on South Granville, but we’re not kidding! Caffé Barney operates a small-but-cozy wooden patio—surrounded by trees—during the summer months. Located on the second story of the building (Who knew?), it’s a great place to get breakfast if you woke up a little later than usual; they serve brunch until 4 p.m. 2975 Granville St.

9. The Narrow Lounge

If the red light outside the restaurant is on, you know they’re serving. The Narrow lounge features a tiki-esque style patio, and its the perfect gathering place for you and your friends. Filled with colourful string lights, festive knick-knacks, and a bar decked out with vintage tile, it’s a great place to unwind, grab a few beers and have some good food. On the corner of Main St. and 3rd Ave.
