Resonate at Sunset

Thursday, April 13

Located at the Vancouver Art Gallery’s outdoor space Offsite, Khan Lee’s installation Red, Green and Blue is an oasis of transparent cones, filtered light and shadows that move in the wind. As part of a special sunset performance, artists Holy Hum and Sinoia Caves have composed a piece that plays off of the installation and the surrounding environment of buildings, trees, traffic and water.

When: April 13, sunset (around 7:45 to 8:45 p.m.)

Learn Salish Drumming

Thursday, April 13

Tick off another item on your bucket list and head down to SFU Woodwards for these free and open Salish signing and drumming workshops. You’ll learn social songs, drumming and dance from talented composer and Lil’wat singer, Russel Wallace.

When: April 13, 7 p.m.

Join a Parade

Saturday, April 15

Main Street will be transformed this weekend as thousands are expected to join the celebration that is the Vancouver Vaisakhi Parade. Everyone is welcome to join the parade, which celebrates the Sikh New Year, harvest and the Khalsa Fraternity. Featuring floats, performers, music and free food and drink from hundreds of residents and businesses, this is set to be an amazing event.

When: April 15, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Starts at Ross Street Temple, 8000 Ross St.

Put a Hop in your Step

Saturday, April 15

There’s nothing like the sound of a 26 piece live soul orchestra to put a hop in your step for the Easter long weekend! The Big Sound is an all star soul orchestra that plays classics from the glory days of soul. Get ready to dance to hits from Motown, Atlantic and Hi-Records and more.

Learn to Love the Slush

Sunday, April 16

The Cypress Mountain Slush Cup 2017 challenges participants to skim across a huge puddle of slush in skis or snowboards as the winter snow melts into sports day fun. Contestants can win prizes for best pond skim and best style then move on to relax at the Crazy Raven patio with fire pits and—you guessed it—slushies.

When: April 16, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: Cypress Mountain, 6000 Cypress Bowl Rd
Cost: Free with purchase of lift pass, must register before 11 a.m.
