Calling all foodies! The annual EAT!Vancouver Food and Cooking festival is just around the corner, and it’s packed with one-of-a-kind dining events. This unique festival delivers premium culinary experiences by attracting the best guest chefs from across Canada and beyond, to be hosted by some of Vancouver’s most respected culinary stars. If the thought of an evening devouring sweet and savoury canapés crafted by 24 renowned chefs makes your stomach rumble, or a dinner blending the farm-to-table approach of Fable’s Trevor Bird with French-Canadian fare by Chartier’s Steve Brochu, has your mouth watering, you should buy tickets today… as in, right now (before it’s too late).
EAT! Dinner Series
This year’s dinner series brings world-famous guest chefs to Vancouver to create magic in the kitchens of some of the best restaurant’s in the city. Cinara will host Michelin-star chef Mitchell Bates from Toronto’s Grey Gardens and Winnipeg’s Mandel Hitzer from deer+almond for an innovative twist on Italian-inspired cuisine. Meanwhile, Burdock & Co.’s Andrea Carlson will collaborate with chef Tyler Shedden from Toronto’s The Chase, for a falvourful meal featuring organic and locally grown ingredients. And in Kitsilano, Mak n Ming will host Kelsey Johnson from Edmonton’s Café Linnea. To top things off, each of the 10 dinners in the series includes gratuity, as well as wine-pairings specially chosen to compliment these one-time-only menus.
EAT! Signature Events
EAT!Vancouver’s tasting events are a crowd favourite, offering attendees a wide variety of samplings to devour. EAT!Harvest is the festival’s signature event, featuring canapés by 24 chefs, including award-winning chocolatier Brett Roy from Edmonton’s Sweet Lollapalooza and culinary television star Neal Fraser, owner of Los Angeles’ Redbird.
Anyone with a sweet tooth will love EAT!Pastry – a tasting event highlighting desserts from 15 award-winning pastry chefs and chocolatiers paired with fresh, seasonal cocktails.
And if you’re a fan of fine spirits, you won’t want to miss the newly-added EAT!Fine Cognac. This luxurious tasting event features 35 exclusive varieties of cognac to sample that are also available to purchase on-site (even ones that aren’t available in B.C.).
