Waterfront Zumba and Waterfront Cinema at Canada Place
Beginning this week, the summer’s best offerings return to North Point at Canada Place
July 3, 2015
Following an enormously successful inaugural season, Waterfront Zumba and Waterfront Cinema are back for round two. The free family-friendly events start up again this week with Monday afternoon dance parties and Thursday night movies reclaiming their positions on the Canada Place events calendar.
It’s no wonder the events were met with such enthusiasm last summer. Framed by Vancouver harbour with a stunning view of the North Shore mountains, Canada Place’s North Point makes a breath-taking setting for exercise and entertainment. “Our events offer the chance for locals and visitors to enjoy our beautiful port city at a unique location right in the heart of Vancouver’s waterfront,” says Gillian Behnke, Manager of Community Relations and Communications at Port Metro Vancouver and Canada Place.
The weekly Latin-inspired fitness class begins July 6th at 5:30PM, with an hour-long class led by popular local instructor Luglio Romero of Zumba Vancouver. Feeling shy? Watch last summer’s recap to check out this fun all-levels exercise class
Despicable Me kicks off the Thursday night movie lineup at dusk on July 9th. In keeping with Canada Place’s mission to provide inspirationally Canadian experiences, each movie features some of Canada’s best talent. Bring your own blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the beverage and popcorn concession that transforms the pier into a true outdoor cinema.
These weather-dependent events will continue weekly through to the end of August (excluding August 3rd), with any cancelled movie nights rescheduled for September.
