The Details: #210 2238 Eton St. | $329,900 | 630 sq. ft. | Bed 1, Bath 1 | Built 1988
The Condo: Who says there aren’t a few good deals out there right now? This tastefully updated one bedroom doesn’t break the budget at $329,900. At just over 600 sq. ft., the floor plan is open and welcoming. Recent updates include new shaker cabinets in the kitchen, stainless steel appliances and bamboo floors throughout. Cozy wood-burning fireplace with stone feature wall. The solarium off the living room is filled with windows to bring in natural light and makes for a great home office. Large bedroom with stylish wood feature wall and plenty of closet space. In-suite laundry is a big bonus at this price point. Low maintenance fee of $175.03/month.
The Building: Eton Heights is a 27-year-old wood frame building that was completely rain screened with new windows and roof in 2012. Rentals are allowed with some restrictions. Pets are not permitted. Each of the units in the building comes with a secure underground parking stall.
The Neighbourhood: Rapidly evolving Hastings-Sunrise (or the re-branded ‘East Village’) has really turned a corner the past few years. This section of Hastings offers up a great selection of amenities including Donald’s Market, Red Wagon cafe, Tacofino, JJ BEAN, London Drugs and more. It’s also a short stroll to Burrard View Park and New Brighton Park, with their spectacular water and mountain views. The demographic is a nice balance of housing styles and cultures, with a very welcoming and warm neighbourhood vibe.
The Drawbacks: No pets allowed in this building, so if you’ve got any fur babies, this one won’t work for you. And no patio for those summer barbecues.
