Seattle Art Fair Hits CenturyLink

See the best in modern and contemporary art at this summer’s Seattle Art Fair

As if you needed another reason for a road trip to Seattle this summer, the Emerald City will be hosting the inaugural Seattle Art Fair from July 30 to August 2.Already established as an influential player in the global art landscape, Seattle will welcome approximately sixty local, regional and international art galleries exhibiting top tier modern and contemporary art for the weekend at the CenturyLink Field Event Center. The four day fair, produced by Art Market Productions in concert with Vulcan, Inc. will highlight the Pacific Northwest’s vibrant culture and diversity alongside regional artwork from several contemporary Asian galleries. Event organizers are excited about the calibre of participating galleries which include Gagosian Gallery, David Zwirner Gallery, Paul Kasmin Gallery and PACE.“A definite highlight on this year’s program is Thinking Currents, a signature exhibition on new media, video, sound and film as curated by Leeza Ahmady,” tells Max Fishko, Director of Seattle Art Fair. “This addition to our outstanding lineup fortifies an important partnership with Asia Contemporary Art Week and showcases some of today’s most talented regional artists.”The artistic impact won’t end at the stadium gates. Off-site art installations and panels will encourage the awareness and appreciation of art to seep into the city. For instance, Talk Contemporary, a series of free talks presented by Seattle Art Fair and hosted by the Seattle Art Museum, features leading contemporary artists from a variety of media and disciplines who engage audiences with complex issues related to sustainability and climate change. As you start to plan your time in Washington State, Seattle Art Fair suggests reserving one of seventy-six spacious guest rooms at Hotel Sorrento, where you can celebrate in the sumptuous Fireside Room or dine in the relaxed yet refined Dunbar Room.If you think the drive across the border is beautiful to begin with (and we certainly do), just wait to see what Seattle Art Fair has in store on the other side.Seattle Art FairJuly 30 – August 2seattleartfair.com
