Scream If You Want to Go Faster

Rollercoasters, the scrambler, bumper cars and more await at PlayDome, the indoor carnival at BC Place. Join the Debate Team

Wednesday March 28

As affordable housing becomes increasingly impossible to find in Vancouver, Urbanarium is hosting a debate about “The Missing Middle” and the challenges that neighbourhoods and the city face in order to create more housing amidst large scale developments. City Debate #11: Build Missing Middle Housing asks audience members to vote at the beginning and end of the debate. Whichever group changes the most opinions is awarded a prize. This month the speakers include Scot Hein, UBC’s Urban Designer and Anne McMullin, CEO of the Urban Development Institute.

Since its inception, The Rio Theatre has become one of the most beloved and truly original venues in the city. Bringing together movie enthusiasts, burlesque fans, live music lovers and those who love throwing popcorn and yelling in unison at the screen, The Rio now needs helps to buy the land the venue is situated on. Each night this week they will be hosting events that put the fun in fundraiser, including a Secret Screening Fundraiser Marathon on Saturday night. Expect trivia, prizes, costumes and three nerdtastic screenings. It’s time to #SaveTheRio!
